THE INFAMOUS™ WWE Monday Night RAW Review 5/23/11

Before RAW kicked off with Jerry “The King” Lawler coming out and informing the world that Michael Cole has been de-FEET-ed at Over The Limit, a picture saying “In Memory of “Macho Man” Randy Savage” flashed on the screen. I was dead set on not watching, let alone reviewing this show if they didn’t show any type of respect to a legend that helped put the WWE on the map. I would have preferred a video package, but hey the show is just kicking off, I’m sure they will have something else, right?

Anyways, now that Lawler has de-FEET-en Michael Cole, everything can finally return to normalcy in WWE land and hopefully that puts the final nail in the coffin to that poor excuse of a feud. Lawler then introduces one of the people who helped him embarrass Cole at the PPV, his long time nemesis and Ace Hart’s deadbeat dad, Bret “The Hitman” Hart. Crowd pops, I mark out, so far so good. I remember their rivalry from back in the days. Word on these here interwebs is that Shawn Michaels and his Kliq orchestrated comedy angles such as the Bret Hart vs Jerry “The King” Lawler feud to keep Bret Hart away from Shawn. Without this feud though Kane Dr. Isaac  Yankem DDS wouldn’t  never had a run as Fake Diesel and ultimately “The Big Red Monster” Kane, but  I digress. Bret says he is happy to be back on Monday Night RAW and even though he feuded with “The King” he respected him for the type of competitor that he was. Michael Cole though, that pendejo gets no fucking respect. Cole is a tool of the garden variety. Hoe, with a capital H and we all know what we do with Hoes, don’t we? Dig the Hoe out. Hit it and quit it, but never forget it. Oh yea don’t forget the condoms because you never wanna run up in just any old Hoe RAW Style, can you dig it?

Anyways, R-Truth comes out and rudely interrupts the old geezer WWE Hall Of Famer. “Don’t boo me, it’s Hitman Hart.” Lol, Truth says that it is an honor to be there with Bret. Truth is aware of his legacy and thinks that Bret is a 90 time WWE Champion. So maybe his information isn’t the most accurate, but R-Truth is a natural heel and makes it work. I have no doubt in my mind that one day Truth will go on to regain all the “Little Jimmies” he lost on the course to his superb heel turn when he ends up becoming a popular anti-hero (at least that’s what I see happening). Truth is upset that he isn’t next in line for a WWE Championship opportunity. He even illustrates the number of World title matches he has been in, “Shhhhoup” a big fat zero. I swear that Truth’s character is supposed to be of a paranoid conspiracy theorist that thinks everyone is trying to hold him down, but to me he comes off a bit comical. Like Heath Ledger as The Joker, just a tad bit more ghetto.

Further establishing that his animated mic skills are among some of the best in the business today, R-Truth asks if he could borrow Bret’s sunglasses which he kinda ends up just snatching away since he wants to try out a quick experimentation. In the funniest scene on RAW all year, Truth interacts with the crowd and finds him a Little Jimmy [Pause]. Truth finds a kid and puts the sunglasses on top of his head and asked if that would make him next in line for a WWE Championship Match. The majority of the crowd booed, but there was a section or two that cheered. When the reaction wasn’t what he wanted he took the glasses back. This was pure diamond encrusted 24k gold. Truth says that he thought that giving the people what they wanted would get him to the top, but it didn’t. Actions speak louder than words and maybe he needs to beat a Hall of Famer’s ass to get the championship match he so desperately seeks. Bret isn’t scared and says the reasons he won all the championships he has is because he was the best there is, best there was and the best that there ever will be. Then he tells Truth the truth. The reason Truth doesn’t get any damn title shots is because he’s black a fucking lunatic. Truth isn’t trying to hear that though so he tries to exit the ring until John Cena’s music started blaring out of the speakers. Yes, the champ is here after a hellacious battle with The Miz (and Alex Riley) at Over The Limit. He comes out limping so I assume that Miz pounded on him until he couldn’t pound on him anymore [Pause]. Alert the media, Cena, for once in his life, is actually selling a beating!!!! I am flabbergasted.

Anyways, John Cena doesn’t want Truth to go anywhere. Before he addresses RAW’s resident lunatic, Cena shows his respects to Bret. Cena’s been busy with The Miz so he’s lost and wants to know when exactly did R-Truth ended up going crazy? Cena acknowledges that they used to be cool, but then Truth delivers this gem “Used to, is the rooster, from Brewster. You don’t know anything cool and you don’t know a damn thing about me.” I must admit, that was kinda amusing.  Truth reveals that the conspiracy he keeps alluding to is John Cena. He resents Cena for the way the audience gravitates to him. He doesn’t understand why people would buy Cena merchandise. He feels overlooked and it’s time for a damn change. Truth says people like Cena and “Hitman Hart” are a propaganda tool designed to make the viewers feel good. Truth no longer cares what the people want because it’s all about  him and he wants a WWE Championship Match. Cena hears enough and threatens that it’s time to knock some sense into Truth when the Raw Anonymous General Manager chimes in.

The GM says that R-Truth has been impressive, but it wants to see more from Truth before it gives him a WWE Championship Match. The GM says it will pay close attention to the main event pitting R-Truth and CM Punk vs Rey Mysterio and John Cena. Truth is pissed the fuck off, but the GM has one more surprise, the special guest referee will be Bret “The Hitman” Hart.

Cool match. I’m looking forward to that one. Recently I have read that John Cena’s next planned feud would involve CM Punk as a way for WWE to sweeten the pot due to CM Punk’s contractual dispute. That’s cool and all, but to be honest I would rather see R-Truth and John Cena have a long epic feud. It’s years in the making if anyone remembers when Ron Killings used to always diss John Cena back when Truth was in TNA. Truth went from zero to anti-hero and now I am a believer of the Truth. I see him as a WWE Champion one day, I don’t think I could say that a few months back though. Sometimes it pays to be bad.

Kane and Big Show are backstage talking. Show is sitting on Alberto Del Rio’s black Ferrari so Ricardo Rodriguez comes out of nowhere and starts scolding him like a child. He says that Big Show should show respect and if he doesn’t then Alberto Del Rio will show him what respect is all about. Del Rio is now present and he is pissed the fuck off. He doesn’t like anybody fucking with his shit and that if he doesn’t get the respect he thinks he deserves that he will make life a living hell for the Big Show.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Kane and The Big Show (C) vs David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty

This is a rematch from last week where Otunga and Cutty scored a pinfall on the Tag Team Champions. CM Punk and Mason Ryan had a shot at the Over The Limit PPV, but failed, so this is Nexus’s second chance to be able to bring some type of title to their stable. Anyways, Kane and Big Show completely dominated the fist half of the match before it went to commercial. CM Punk is on announcing. He’s a natural talker and should easily be an announcer if he ever decided to stay with WWE in a non wrestling capacity. I can’t say that this really peaks my interest since the Nexus have become nothing more than a joke, but they pulled it together at the end to pull off the upset victory. Of course they didn’t win clean though as Mason Ryan distracted both Kane and the referee while CM punk kicked Big Show in the back off the head allowing Otunga and Cutty to hit a double DDT on Show for the win.

Winners and NEW WWE Tag Team Champions: David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty

Holy fuck!!! David Otunga is a two time, two time, WWE Tag Team Champion!!! Oh, and Mr. Perfect’s son Michael Mcgilliybilly just popped his WWE Championship cherry as he finally tastes WWE gold bronze for the first time ever so this match is historic no matter how disinterested I was to see it to begin with. Hopefully Nexus can use this as momentum on their way to take over RAW, or be destined to be fortunate break catching jobbers.

This hilarious picture is the official poster shown on RAW for the upcoming Capitol Punishment PPV. Obama is involved because this event will take place in Washington DC so the WWE is given it a governmental feel. If a former WWE Superstar so happens to be in his hometown that night he might just make his long-awaited return, but that’s just a rumor going around. Do you know of who I speak of? Hint Hint, he fucked Melina. I know, I know, everyone fucked Melina, but he’s the most famous WWE Superstar to hit that ass. Word.

A clip was shown showing Randy Orton signing some “This Is Me” DVD in which he stars in. Parents and kids spoke about how cool it is for Orton to be in a movie aimed at families in order to help curve the bully rate in schools which has gotten to be quite the pandemic in recent years. The announcers then start talking about how CM Punk might have been a bully when he was younger. Footage from the WWE Tag Team Championship match was then shown.

Backstage Scott Stamford asks the former Tag Team Champions how they felt about what just happened and The Big Show is irate. Show goes on a rage fueled promo, but then he is interrupted by Alberto Del Rio who says the following in spanish, “Oooh, you guys already lost the championships? You are no longer strong. Damn bastards.” He then slaps the fuck out of Big Show and runs off knocking over the camera in the process. The screen fizzles out into white noise, but comes back on and Ricardo Rodriguez is shown hitting Show with Del Rio’s 2011 Ferrari Spider valued at over $250,000. Show screams like a whore in labor while the idiot Ricardo just sits in the car for a while instead of peeling the fuck off screaming “I DID IT FOR THE ROCK”. Ricky and Del Rio run away leaving the car behind at the scene of the crime. Nice, not that the car was needed anyways, since everything is on film.  Big Show looks like he might be out with a “broken leg”. It goes to commercial, comes back and Show is still screaming like a hooker getting plowed up the ass with no vaseline. If Big Show is smart he would sue Del Rio. That’s a sweet ride so I’m sure his insurance his on point. Big Show can get a nice settlement check out of this.

Jack Swagger vs Evan Bourne

Jack Swagger was impressive last week when he dominated John Cena so he was my clear favorite to win this match. Especially after Lawler said that Swagger might be one of the stronger Superstars he has ever encountered. Anyways, this was an extremely short, yet fun match. Swagger dominated at first, but Bourne was mounting a comeback until he got laid the fuck out with a brutal gutwrench power bomb.

Winner: Jack Swagger

After the match Swagger runs a few laps over Bourne’s fallen body, but Bourne pops up and kicks Swagger before getting the hell out of dodge thus continuing their new found feud. I think that if giving enough time, their rematch can be quite exhilarating.

Michael Cole shamefully walks the backstage area. He sees the Divas and tries to shake hands with Eve. She extends her leg out instead. I don’t know about you, but where I’m from, if a girl throws her legs up at you then its all go when it comes to intercourse, but I digress. Cole looks sad, alone, tormented and embarrassed ever since sucking on Lawler’s old ass toes at Over The Limit.

Michael Cole comes out to apologize to everyone for being a major douchenozzle. A “You suck toe” chant breaks out. Classic. He seems desperate. All he wants to do is return to announcing and forget he ever was a tool. Lawler would also like for everything and go back to the way things used to be, but not before he shows an image of Cole with his foot in his mouth.

The Miz and Alex Riley come out. Miz looks extremely pissed and blames Alex Riley for being the reason he isn’t the WWE Champion. Miz says this isn’t a one time phenomenon. This has been habitual and Miz has had enough. Miz blames Riley for his loss against John Cena at Over The Limit and demands that the RAW GM gives him another chance at the WWE Championship, this time with Riley banned at ringside. Miz says that he feels he was in a handicap match at the PPV, that’s how unhelpful and worthless he feels Riley was. The GM chimes in, but tells Miz that he is done with John Cena. Miz goes hysterical and calls Riley a waste of space. Miz then gets in Riley’s face and fires him after letting him know how much of a disappointment he has been. Its official, Riley is freed from his personal service contract. Maybe he can take his ass over to Smackdown where he belongs. Anyways, Miz gets physical and as a result, Alex Riley ends up beating the crap out of The Miz.

Fuck yeah!!!!! Look at Riley go. He throws Miz over the announce table and beats Miz to a huge pop from the crowd. He embarrasses his former boss and tears his shirt off. Riley has never shown me much of anything so saying I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. This is one of the better face turns done in recent memory and if I wasn’t interested before, a Miz vs Riley rivalry might be something that will keep me captivated if done right. There is still the fact that Riley is a Smackdown Superstar and now that Miz fired him he doesn’t really have an excuse to keep showing up on RAW. I guess well see where this story goes next week. If Riley shows up on RAW then this feud will continue and if not than maybe this is the momentum need for Riley to have a successful face run on Smackdown.

The Bella Twins, Melina and Maryse vs Kelly Kelly, Beth Phoenix, Gail Kim and Eve

Michael Cole says how much he loves to see the WWE Divas compete. So I guess Cole is a reluctant face now, whatever. Anyways this match wasn’t much of anything. Kharma comes out while all the Divas stand around. Kharma goes in the center of the ring and signals for all the Divas to come attack her. Nobody does anything. Kharma then drops down to her knees as a fan yells “WHAT THE FUCK MAN?”. I guess Kharma thinks that because the Divas didn’t attack her that they accept her as one of their own? I really don’t know what to make of this. Kharma gets all emotional and nobody understands what the fuck is going on. This was a weird segment and I hope WWE isn’t already dropping the ball on a dominant Kharma run. I knew I should have just made a sandwich instead of watching this poor excuse of a match.

Winner: This wasn’t a match, but more of an angle progression and a stupid one at that.

I hope I didn’t just witness potential being squandered. Fuck!!!

Kofi Kingston vs Drew McIntyre

These two had quite the feud on Smackdown over the Intercontinental Championship so they are no strangers to each others styles. Drew works on Kofi’s leg for most of the match even pulling off a figure four using the ring post. I used to love when Bret did that move back in the day. Anyways, this was a good match that saw Kofi overcome the odds. He sold the pain of his leg beautifully as he couldn’t hit his Trouble In Paradise finisher, but he ended up hitting a well executed  S.O.S for the win. My only complaint is that this match was too short.

Winner: Kofi Kingston

After the match they show Dolph Ziggler (who is once again a beach blonde jobber) and Vickie Guerrero watching the match. I guess it’s safe to say that Dolph is considering a run with the WWE United States Championship. Kofi now has a weakness with his leg being all fucked up so I say Dolph somehow exploits that weakness. WWE is recycling Smackdown storylines from last year. The only thing that changed is the secondary title. Same feuds, new belt. Blah. Anyways, Kofi Kingston’s spider influence ring gear was designed by six-year-old Luke M. of Alberta, Canada. Luke was the winner of WWE Kids Magazine’s first-ever “Draw a Superstar’s Gear” contest. His drawing was handpicked from thousands of entries across North America by Kofi himself. Good job Luke.

A video package of Obama hyping up WWE’s Over The Limit PPV is shown. For the record, this was edited from a real Obama speech so while Obama’s image and likeness is being used to promote a WWE PPV, Obama’s involvement is unofficial. I’m sure they had to get permission before doing that though so kudos to the president for being hip to the WWE.

David Otunga and Michael McGillibilly are shown backstage excited as fuck to be Tag Team Champions. They say they are taking over RAW. CM Punk tells them to watch what he’s going to do in the main event. Nexus seems to be refocused and energized. About damn time.

An anti-bullying video package was shown.

Scott Stamford asks Alberto Del Rio about what happened earlier with The Big Show. Del Rio says that if you disrespect him you will pay, but he didn’t have anything to do with Big Show getting hit by a car and he can’t believe what an idiot Ricardo Rodriguez is for doing what he did.

OOOOOHHHH YEEAAHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought it wasn’t going to happen and had settled for the RIP picture at the beginning of the show so this was a pleasant surprise. I don’t know wheather to be sad he’s gone or happy that he is being remembered for being the true legend that he was. I might be confused on what to feel right now, but there is no denying that this video package is making me feel something. Bravo WWE and RIP “Macho Man” Randy Savage.

Rey Mysterio and John Cena vs R-Truth and CM Punk With Special Guest Referee, Bret “The Hitman” Hart

Props go out to CM Punk for being the only Superstar on RAW to pay homage to Randy Savage. Punk had on Savage inspired wrestling gear on. Too bad his color coordination is gay as fuck. Punk doesn’t look Macho at all in his little pink speedo, but I digress. This was a fun match especially towards the end. Rey Mysterio stood out in this match and John Cena’s limp from earlier seemed to mysteriously disappear. Bret Hart ended up getting involved in the match by putting CM Punk in a sharpshooter while Rey hit Punk with a leg drop. Basically the faces went over and the bad guys looked like idiots. The GM said he wanted to see more from Truth in order to give him a championship match, but I guess that thought must have crossed Truth’s mind because he didn’t show much of anything in this bout.

Winners: Rey Mysterio and John Cena

With less in ring action than last week, I must say that I still enjoyed this episode of RAW better than last week’s. There is no doubt in my mind that R-Truth is the future of the WWE. He stood out when cutting promos against a Hall of Famer and the current WWE Champion. That has to count for something. I know Vince likes his start-stop pushes, but if he’s seeing the same shit I am then he knows there is alot of money to be made with Truth in the future. Big Show getting hit by a car was fucking hilarious and I wonder what kind of consequences are coming Del Rio’s way as a result. I hope he doesn’t end up in a feud with Kane, but now that Kane is no longer a Tag Team Champion he can take Alex Riley’s ass with him to Smackdown. Speaking of Alex Riley, I can’t believe I actually marked out for him. What the fuck? The way he beat The Miz’s ass was a thing of beauty. I want to see more of that from Riley. If he can take advantage of his new found face heat he could end up being 2011’s breakout Superstar. The honor currently belongs to R-Truth though. I wish the matches were longer, but watching RAW for as long as I have I have grown accustomed to the short matches. Kofi impressed me with his win and I can’t wait to see more Swagger vs Bourne. I didn’t get the whole Kharma segment. That was a real head scratcher right there, but I’m slightly intrigued and want to see where the hell that storyline is going before I defecate all over it. The Macho Man tribute was well done and I hope they show it again on Smackdown. If I had to pick one word to describe this episode of Monday Night RAW it would be; Entertaining.

That’s all I got. *Fades2Black*

Lil Riley went hard for the MIZ so storyline wise MIZ had it comin, but wow to have your lackey hand it to you that was is bizarre. Not only did MIZ look weak last night but now he gets owned by his student…his student who gets an F most of the time.

That Kharma bit was on some BS but I’ll wait for it. Cold benefit them all

Show vs ADR spells nothing good for ADR. The way to display ADR’s talent is NOT Big Show

    Truth goes nuts

Cena needs to lose at some point and Punk didn’t need to take a fall. Great job on the Macho tribute though, he’s a class act

Everything else was pretty average and nothing was wow

Once again the review was better than the show, I’m just saying

Riley’s had this building up for quite a bit. I can see a motivated Riley doing that.

The Kharma thing was odd, but unexpected. Could be an interesting wrinkle.

      ADR is gonna get KTFO!

      Truth is nuts.

Cena hasn’t had the title in almost a year. He’ll lose, no doubt.

I wonder if the rumored Nexus vs. Corre feud might happen over the titles.

      • May 24, 2011 at 8:16 pm

Please no Corre vs Nexus. Both crews are a shell of their former selfs. I would however like if they let bygones be bygones and joined forces.

I though Riley would have simply just slapped Miz and keep it moving but he beat his ass something serious. I was surprised because Riley sucks and he hasn’t shown me nothing since coming to RAW.

The Kharma shit was stupid. I was wondering how long it would take WWE to turn her into a comedy act and while this isnt that exactly it shows that they either have no direction for her or something big might come of it. I dont know, I will wait till next week to see where it goes before I go further into it.

Big Show is going to be out of action for a while to sell that broken leg. Maybe he has a new movie lined up or something I don’t know but if Del Rio keeps pulling shit like that he might get John Cena’s attention soon.

    • May 24, 2011 at 8:22 pm

I am just as confused as you are. They were doing good with her too. Maybe she feels loved because the Divas didnt jump her or some shit. One of the Divas needs to hurry up and befriend her and have her do her evil biddings. I thought they were building towards a Kharma and Kelly Kelly angle but that looks like it may not happen anymore.

    RAW did a 3.4 rating.

    • May 24, 2011 at 8:28 pm

Less fickle fans. They were at 3.1 last week, so it is a nice rebound…a RAW REBOUND!

        • May 24, 2011 at 8:37 pm

RAW might do better in the ratings if it came on at 7 or 8pm instead of 9pm. Alot of Little Jimmys are sleep by then.

    Copy and pasted from Rajah:

Midway through last night’s Eight-Diva Tag Team Match on Raw, Kharma’s entrance music echoed, freezing her fellow Divas. As she slid into the ring, her eight fellow Divas lined up on the opposite side of the canvas. Kharma unexpectedly dropped to her knees and began crying.

F4WOnline.com reports that the angle was scripted to write her off television for the time being. She is expected to be sidelined for over nine months.

The reason for her removal from television has not been disclosed.

Looks like Kharma might be preggerz

Kharma was on a roll. This is mos def a future What If.. Would the Diva division be taken serious? Would ahe have won a title? What was her intentions with Kelly Kelly? So many questions, but I have to see RAW next week to see what happens.

I’m now a bigger fan of Truth and Punk. I was feeling the tights. Macho was my favorite wrestler growing up. Cena’s celebration was bad at best. Can Big Show teach Cena how to sell? The Kharma angle doesn’t make sense.

    – Kharma might be pregnant……for real.
    – John Morrison is taking comedy classes….no joke (pun not intended). Here is the link: http://social.comedyworkshops.com/profiles/blogs/from-wrestling-to-speaking

I actually think this is a smart idea by Morrison (or maybe Vince made him do it). Morrison needs to work on his mic skills. I don’t know if he needs to be funnier but he definitely needs to improve his promos if he ever wants to be a main-eventer someday.

Comedy huh? I agree Morrison being funny is the least of his worries but to me that means when he returns he will continue to be a face. John just needs to relax on the mic. He always comes off a bit too nervous. Maybe he is taking improv classes which will help him come up with better stuff on the spot.

A great RAW simply because they did a lovely video package for Randy Savage.

THE INFAMOUS JCITY™ :Copy and pasted from Rajah:
Midway through last night’s Eight-Diva Tag Team Match on Raw, Kharma’s entrance music echoed, freezing her fellow Divas. As she slid into the ring, her eight fellow Divas lined up on the opposite side of the canvas. Kharma unexpectedly dropped to her knees and began crying.
F4WOnline.com reports that the angle was scripted to write her off television for the time being. She is expected to be sidelined for over nine months.
The reason for her removal from television has not been disclosed.
Looks like Kharma might be preggerz

I wish Big Show had done this. Then we could’ve said that Kharma had been KNOCKED THE FUCK UP!

Don’t tell me Xpac is involved, lol. If she wants to do porn then more power to her, but she needs to be in a gangbang or something because no one man can handle all that woMAN.

            • May 27, 2011 at 2:56 pm

LMMFAO, it does look like that, but I think she has the Vanessa Del Rio steroid clit. Steroid makes weiners smaller and pussies bigger it seems.

Randy Savage back in the day wore the pink trunks with 3 stars on the back. Where Punk’s said his name Randy’s said Macho Man. To match that Savage wore yellow boots with a star on the side of each. Then he’d have some kind of phat ass robe on. The only person to compete with Flair in ring robes was Savage. Always a favorite, he has been sorely missed and always will be. R.I.P.

    • May 26, 2011 at 7:21 pm

Macho Man did wear some flamboyant stuff but he made it work. CM Punk looked like Hitler in pink panties, lol.

Ummm, you might want to check the attitude at the door mister. I haven’t gotten any emails unless they are chilling in the spam folder, I did reply to your tweet and I haven’t checked formspring all weekend. I don’t go around ignoring people. I like to believe that i’m straight up with everyone. You also have to understand that my email stays flooded and names I recognize tend to take priority since opening 100+ Nigerian scams isn’t on my agenda, lol. I will look for it though.

    Your e-mail is jcity617@yahoo.com right?

Anyways if you find any of my mails please delete them. I’ll send you a new (and better) one.
