Public Service Announcement: Memorial Day Weekend

Just a quick update. I will be going out of town for a few days to spend some time with my ridiculously dysfunctional family. I want to celebrate the memory of all the great American heroes who have lost their lives fighting for my freedom by eating dead grilled cows and drinking the best American beer money can buy with those that claim they love me. I truly am grateful for all the sacrifices the United States Army, Navy, Marines and The National Guard have made for me and every other American so we can live our lives the way we see fit. I hope everyone reading this has a great Memorial Day Weekend. If you are not an American then have a great normal style weekend. Also, if anyone was planning on submitting any columns this weekend please feel free to do so and I will get to them as soon as I can. Please be safe and never forget those who gave their lives for you. I will now leave you all with a good wrestling style chant, USA!!! USA!!! USA!!!

I’m going to see Hangover 2 with my brother in-law. Already saw it on Thursday. Laughed my ass off.

    • May 28, 2011 at 10:38 am

Am I the only one who thought The Hangover was an overrated movie? It’s a very good movie but I have a hard time putting it among my top five favorite comedies of all-time. It wasn’t as funny as I hoped it would be. I hear Hangover 2 is better…I hope everyone is right.

What makes something “overrated”? A great majority of the people who went see the first one loved it, yet you think its overrated. I don’t know if I would call it “overrated” as much as just not being your type of thing. I see “overrated” as more of the type of thing that is seen by very few people, but is built up as “better” than mainstream. Some thing like Eternal Sunshine is verbally jacked off to by the net, but when I finally saw it, I thought it was good, but not this gift from god people made it out to be. Give me Dumb and Dumber any day. May I ask when you saw the original? Comedies usually work better when you have more people with you. I’ve watched movies in a packed theater and laughed non-stop, but when seeing them on tv, by myself, they don’t have the same amount of laughs.

“What makes something “overrated”? A great majority of the people who went see the first one loved it, yet you think its overrated. I don’t know if I would call it “overrated” as much as just not being your type of thing.”

I enjoyed the movie a lot and if I saw it on TV, I would watch it again. It’s just that it was promoted as the Greatest R-Rated Movie of All-Time and I disagree. It’s at the same level as movies like Old School or Wedding Crashers or Road Trip or American Pie but to me, it’s not better than all of those movies and it may not be even as good as some of those movies.

“May I ask when you saw the original?”

I did originally watch it at home but that said, I think the last comedy I saw in the theaters was Mr. Deed’s so where I saw it is somewhat irrelevant. It’s a really good movie but I would give it 3 stars and not 4 stars. I will say it is my favorite R-Rated comedy in the last two or three years. The last great comedy I saw was probably Role Models.

That kid from Role Models was awesome! I remember when he was a co-host for RAW and was talking shit to everybody. Vince may want to hire him as a manager when he’s old enough. Wedding Crashers holds a special place for me due the theater I saw it in loosing it non-stop, but also due to Matt Morgan coming in when there were hardly any seats left. It had been a week since he got fired from WWE. I saw him and thought, “Anybody who can F-5 Big Show can have my seat if he wants it!” But, he was super polite when asking us to move over so he could sit with his girlfriend. Nice guy.

            • May 29, 2011 at 10:49 am

wow…I’ve never met a professional wrestler by accident like that before. I did see Daniel Bryan wrestle in a match at my former high school just nine days before he made his Summerslam return to the WWE so that’s cool. May be the only time I get to see Daniel Bryan for $12. I got his autograph too…he’s a really nice guy who really cares about fans and not money. I later went to a convention and Ted DiBiase and Virgil are asking $20 for a picture! Daniel Bryan was choking fans with a tie while someone took a picture for free!

I’ve met Matt Morgan, Eugene, Punk, Madusa(naked),Mikey from Spirit Squad, Koslov(eating, didn’t bother him, scary looking), Mark Henry(busy, didn’t bother him), Simon Dean, and I saw Ric Flair coming off a WCW tour bus outside a Wendy’s and doing “WOOOOOOO!!!”.

                • May 29, 2011 at 11:55 am

That’s awesome. I’ve only seen wrestlers in the parking lot outside of arenas. I was once 10 feet from Natalya. Edge once walked right by me. I was also really close to Mike Choda while he signed autographs. From a little farther away, I’ve seen The Miz, Mark Henry, Randy Orton, the Undertaker, Jim Ross, Sheamus, and others I can’t think of right now.

      • May 31, 2011 at 1:36 am

I too thought the first one was overrated. Don’t get me wrong, I liked it and all, but it was a bit too overhyped. I still haven’t seen part 2, but i’m hearing mixed reviews with most people saying the first one was better. It still managed to pull like a billion gazillion dollars in its opening weekend, but then again this was a holiday weekend where people wanted to go out and celebrate with loved ones so that might factor in it. With that being said goddamn that Asian guy might just have the littlest cock in existence, no homo. DAMN!!!

Went to see part 2 yesterday and once again, the crowd went nuts for it. These so-called mixed reviews are not mixed. The people who don’t like it are in the minority, big time. At Rotten Tomatoes, its at 35 percent from cridics, but at 94 percent from moviegoers. At CinemaScore, its getting an A-. Most of the problems people are haveing with it seem very petty and shallow.

Haha I like how when talking about Memorial Day JCity wrote the words ‘beer’ and ‘money’ together. At least it’s related!

    • May 31, 2011 at 1:37 am

I didnt think anyone would notice that. I didn’t do it on purpose but when I was reading it back I noticed it and laughed.

Hurry up and come back. It seems that the whole infamous crew took a vacation this week.

    • May 29, 2011 at 10:52 am

I’m still writing….I just need to edit my latest article. If Jcity wants to post it, I’m guessing it should be up sometime next week.

    • May 31, 2011 at 1:48 am

      I’m back 🙂

But yea, I don’t put pressure on anyone to write. I rather it flow from within than have people submit stuff to fit a schedule. We have no schedule or rules for that matter. I try to keep it as clean as possible though because if I relapse into the way I used to write then nobody would want to be associated with this site, lol. I’m just that ruthless as a heel. I think tweener might be a more suitable style for me.

Anyways, sometimes people get burnt out from writing alot or stuff gets in the way, I understand. I’m flexible and I let people go at their own pace. If you write one week then disappear for a month or something its not like i’m going to hate you or hold a grudge or anything. Once your on the team you will always be cool with me unless I publically excommunicate them which I don’t see happening anytime soon.

      • June 1, 2011 at 12:12 am

It’s nice to know we can write on an easy schedule. I worked like 80 hours last week and was a little stressed I couldn’t get an article up in time. It’s definitely a lot easier when you can just relax and enjoy what you’re doing, it’s not like any of us can be supported by writing on the Internet, lol. Who knows, maybe someday (wishful thinking)

80 hours?!? We’re not allowed over 40 and thats with overtime!

Tony Kegger :That’s awesome.

I’m from Louisville and we used to see them all the time from their days in OVW. Somebody who works at a local theater said he would see Masters and Carlito come in there all the time.

    • May 29, 2011 at 2:49 pm

That’s cool. I’m from Chicago and Chicago might be the only city other than L.A. to host a WWE PPV each year for the last three years (2009 to 2011) so I’ve gotten many opportunities to see the WWE.

      You mad bro?

    • May 31, 2011 at 1:50 am

I wrote over 10,000 words before I left so how is that lazy?

  8. May 31, 2011 at 1:58 am

For the record its like 1:50am and I just got home not too long ago. If I do review RAW then it wont be up until I get home from the slave ship so it will be up late on Tuesday since I haven’t watched it yet and I need to take my ass to sleep. If not then I will get to writing on something else and don’t worry it will be wrestling related and not a Lady Gaga review from out of nowhere, lol.
