How I Would Book It: Money In The Bank by Tony Kegger

How I Would Book It: Money In The Bank by Tony Kegger

The WWE Money In The Bank Pay-Per-View takes place this Sunday from my hometown of Chicago. Here’s how I would book Money In The Bank. I have also included my own personal predictions and l will also predict how the Chicago crowd will react to some of the WWE Superstars. Enjoy.

RAW Money In The Bank Ladder Match: Rey Mysterio, Kofi Kingston, Alex Riley, Evan Bourne, Alberto Del Rio, The Miz, R-Truth and Jack Swagger

I am confident that all eight participants are capable of making this a great ladder match. This is Rey Mysterio’s first MITB match so I’m looking forward to seeing how he does. I’m sure the crowd will love everything Evan Bourne, Rey Mysterio and Kofi Kingston end up doing. The crowd reaction for R-Truth should be interesting because I don’t think R-Truth has ever appeared in Chicago during a WWE event.

How I Would Book It: If the John Cena vs. CM Punk match wasn’t on the card, I would have Kofi Kingston win. I’m interested to see how Kofi would do if he was given a huge push and good things usually happen when mid-card superstars win the MITB match. However, with the CM Punk vs. John Cena match taking place later that night, it makes more sense to have Alberto Del Rio win.

Prediction: I think Alberto Del Rio will win.

SmackDown Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Kane, Sheamus, Sin Cara, Daniel Bryan, Cody Rhodes, Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater

I’m less excited about this match than the RAW ladder match because I’m worried about how Sheamus, Kane, Wade Barrett and Heath Slater will do in a ladder match. The other four should do a great job. This will be Sin Cara’s Chicago debut so it will be interesting to see how the crowd reacts to him.

How I Would Book It: I would have Wade Barrett or Kane win. Both of them are World Heavyweight Championship ready.

Prediction: I’ll go with Wade Barrett. Sheamus seems to be the favorite, but I think Sheamus will be in a World Heavyweight Championship match sometime in the near future. I don’t see why one of Smackdown’s top heels would need the Money In The Bank briefcase when he has gotten several title matches on his own in the past.

Divas Champion Kelly Kelly vs. Brie Bella

This is probably the least anticipated match on the card, but at least it features two of the hottest Divas in the WWE. I think this will be the first time in a few years that Kelly Kelly has a match in Chicago.

How I Would Book It: I don’t have much to say about this match. This has been a mediocre feud. If Big Show vs. CM Punk at Night of Champions last year got less than five minutes, then this match shouldn’t get more than that. Four and a half minutes is enough time for them to have a decent match.

Prediction: I’m sure Kelly Kelly will win and extend her title reign.

Big Show vs. Mark Henry

I’m disappointed that this is not a No Holds Barred Match or a Street Fight. However, this has been a really good feud and everything these two have done on TV in the last few weeks has been very entertaining. Seriously, every time we have seen Mark Henry and the Big Show together, something interesting has happened. So maybe they CAN have a decent match. I’m looking forward to this match a lot more now than I was three weeks ago. I’m sure the crowd will appreciate both of these Superstars. Chicago has a lot of older fans and these two are both from the Attitude Era. I wouldn’t be surprised if Mark Henry gets a nice reaction from the crowd, even as a heel.

How I Would Book It: I would have them wrestle for about five minutes and then have Mark Henry grab a steel chair and hit Big Show causing a disqualification. Mark Henry then takes Big Show to the ringside area or maybe even backstage and Henry throws the Big Show into tables and other stuff that is in the area. It doesn’t matter who wins this match… I just want to see a good brawl.

Prediction: Mark Henry wins cleanly over the Big Show which effectively makes him the #1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship.

World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton vs. Christian

This should be an awesome match. On any other PPV, this would be the match of the night. On this PPV, it might be the fourth best match of the night. This is the fourth Orton vs. Christian match for the World Heavyweight Championship, but they have had really good matches so I am glad they are having another match. The crowd reactions for this match should be good. The last time Orton was in Chicago for a PPV, he had a bigger crowd reaction than anyone on the card. This will be Christian’s first time in Chicago since his heel turn and I really think Christian will get cheered. We might hear some dueling chants during this match.

How I Would Book It: I would have a lot of nearfalls in this match. Christian should come very close to winning two or three times. I would have Christian hit his finisher on Randy Orton and have Orton narrowly kick-out in time. Christian will get upset and argue with the ref. While Christian is telling the ref that Orton didn’t get his shoulder up in time, Orton gets to his feet. Christian turns around and Orton hits him with an RKO. Orton gets the win.

Prediction: I think Randy Orton will win again.

WWE Champion John Cena vs. CM Punk

This should be the main event. Although I’m from Chicago and CM Punk is my favorite WWE Superstar, I don’t think I’m biased when I say that this might be the most anticipated match of the year so far. I don’t think anyone really knows how this match will end. Alot of people immediately assumed Cena would win this match as soon as Mr. McMahon said he would fire Cena if CM Punk walked out of Chicago with the WWE Championship, but now I am seeing a lot of people predicting that CM Punk will win. This may not be a classic match if you are judging the actual in-ring wrestling, but the story of this match should make it a classic. I’m worried that the amount of CM Punk love and John Cena hate will be less than many people are expecting, but I’ve been to enough WWE events in Chicago to be confident that Punk will be cheered and Cena will be booed.

How I Would Book It: This may be the toughest “How I Would Book It” I have ever attempted. There aren’t many scenarios that haven’t already been discussed, but I think I came up with a new one. After 20 minutes of wrestling, CM Punk wins the match. While Punk is celebrating his victory, Punk’s music stops and we hear Mr. McMahon’s music. Mr. McMahon grabs a microphone, walks into the ring, approaches John Cena and says, “Well John… I think you know what’s coming next. John Cena… you’re…” Before McMahon can finish his sentence, Punk grabs the mic from him. Punk says, “Hold on a second Vince. You’re really going to do it? You’re really going to fire John Cena?” McMahon gets another mic and replies, “Yes I am. I am a man of my word and Cena couldn’t do what I wanted him to do so I’m going to fire him.” Punk says, “I can’t let you do that. The WWE needs this man and I know you Vince. Once you fire Cena, you aren’t going to re-hire him right away. You might not even re-hire him at all. You will never admit you made a mistake. You think that if you fire Cena and then re-hire him right away, it is going to hurt your reputation and the other wrestlers will do whatever they want and not worry about getting fired. John Cena is a good man. He may not be a better wrestler than me, but he is definitely more loyal to this company than I am. I wasn’t lying when I said I was going to leave with the WWE Championship, but I wasn’t going to keep it forever. I was just going to have some fun with it and then send it back to you eventually, but you shouldn’t fire John Cena. You are already losing me… you shouldn’t lose him too. So I’ll give you your precious WWE Championship belt right now. Yeah that’s right. I called it a belt. What are you gonna do… fire me?” CM Punk hands the WWE Championship over to McMahon. Cena is still in the ring and heard everything Punk said. Cena thanks Punk, tells him that he is a good man and tells the crowd to give Punk a round of applause. Mr. McMahon then tells Punk that he wishes Punk the best in his future endeavors. CM Punk leaves the ring. Mr. McMahon with the WWE Championship says to John Cena, “CM Punk has vacated his WWE Championship and I am awarding it back to you.” McMahon starts to hand the title over to Cena, but instead he hits Cena in the head with the title. Cena is knocked out in the middle of the ring. McMahon runs out of the ring and runs to the backstage area. Right after that, Money In The Bank winner, Alberto Del Rio, comes down to the ring with Mr. McMahon, a referee and his newly won briefcase. McMahon tells the referee to start the match. The referee says he has to wait until Cena is ready to compete, but McMahon tells the referee to start the match or he is fired. So the match starts, Del Rio covers Cena and Del Rio becomes the new WWE Champion.

Prediction: I thought about it and I decided I am not making a prediction for this match. I don’t care if I’m right or wrong. If I pick Punk, I don’t want it to look like I’m picking Punk just because he is from Chicago and I have too much respect for Punk to pick Cena, so I’m not making a prediction for this match. My only prediction is that this match will be great as expected no matter what the outcome is.

This Sunday, July 17th, follow me on Twitter. I am @TonyKegger. I will be at the Money In The Bank PPV in Chicago so I plan on tweeting before, during and after the show. This is your chance to find out exclusive information about the PPV that you might not find out on TV. I’ll try to post the dark match result, a photo of the stage, what happens after the PPV goes off the air and anything else I think you might want to know.

  1. July 15, 2011 at 10:47 pm

    My predictions:

    Raw MITB = Rey Mysterio

    SD MITB = Sheamus

    Henry/Show = Mark Henry

    Kelly/Bella = Kelly

Christain/Orton = Christian, but Sheamus cashes his MITB in to give Christain an even shorter reign to make him go over the top.

Cena/Punk = No idea. As long as something happens besides a typical Cena ppv finish it will be great.

  2. July 15, 2011 at 11:51 pm

Nice scenario for the outcome of the main event. I have tried to stay away from all MITB Previews until I complete mines since I don’t want to have other people’s thought influence mines. I should have it posted sometime tomorrow, but more than one opinion on a PPV isn’t a bad thing. Speaking of more than one opinion, I might just order this fucker and do a live review, but I would love to get your thoughts on the actual live experience. Maybe I can compile all your tweets together or something. We can figure that out later, if you’re interested.

    • July 15, 2011 at 11:57 pm

I quit Twitter. I’m also ordering it and I never comment during ppv’s because if I’m paying $50 for a WWE ppv it’s gonna get my full attention with no distractions.

    • July 16, 2011 at 7:45 am

I have no idea how the live tweeting will turn out. It will either be awesome or a disaster. I hope I can tweet something more interesting than the dark match result. But I do plan on making some kind of reaction/review column. That will get done ASAP next week.

It should be fun. In less than 36 hours, I’ll be in the Allstate.

      • July 16, 2011 at 5:48 pm

You should go strapped with a bomb. If Cena wins then BOOOOOOOOOOOM it was nice knowing you, lol.

    I’m loving the background.

I’m sad that John Morrison isn’t able to be on MITB. Some might say he is a spot monkey, but his abilities would bring more excitement to the match.

Anyways, I’m going to give my list of wishes and what I think it will happen.

    RAW’s MITB
Who I wish to win: Swagger or Kofi.
Who I think will win: Alberto del Rio.

    SD’s MITB
Who I wish to win: Barett or Sheamus or Rhodes or Bryan
Who I think will win: Sheamus

    Diva’s match
Who I wish to win: None. I wish WWE does something crazy by adding a last minute competito, like Beth, Gail or Natalya. Maybe even Eve, who could turn heel in the process.
Who I think will win: Kelly retains.

    Henry vs Show
Who I wish to win: I Kinda don’t care.
Who I think will win: Show.

    Orton vs Christian

Who I wish to win: Hard one. I think Christian deserves to win, but I want him to go berserk over a lost and really establish himself as an heel.
Who I think will win: Randy. Somehow I think WWE will go with the Christian is frustrated route. The only way I see Christian winning is if he wins and then the winner of SD’s MITB immediatly cashes in.

    Cena vs Punk
Who I wish to win: Punk obviously, just because I’m a huge fan of the guy and I think it would be cool if they entered a kayfabe storyline of him really taking the belt to somewhere else.
Who I think will win: I don’t really know, but to me the highest possibility is that Punk wins, Alberto cashes in MITB and Punk leaves for a while with a respectable victory, instead as a loser. Cena won’t be fired, because Punk immediatly lost the belt, which creates a loophole on the firing stipulation.

      July 16, 2011 at 10:04 am

I forgot something: In the Divas match, I think it would be pretty awesome if Nikki knocked out Brie and then steal her the title shot. Just because I want them to break up in order to not see more switch-a-roo’s.

      • July 16, 2011 at 5:51 pm

This is the most unpredictable PPV of the year. I love not knowing whats going to happen since the last few PPV’s have been waaaaay to predictable.

  7. July 16, 2011 at 10:03 am

    Cool review, nicely edited btw

    Please check out mine 🙂

    July 16, 2011 at 10:56 am

Raw MITB: I’ll guess Del Rio or Kofi, and I’m pumped to see what Bourne will do.

SD MITB: Slater will win. No joke.

    KK vs. BB: Yum!!!

Show vs. Henry: I was thinking Henry for quite a bit, but I’m now thinking Show. Henry is getting the blame for the botch this Monday night, so that might be his punishment. Also, it wouldn’t shock me to hear cheers for Henry, because smarks love heels and it wouldn’t shock me to hear a “BORING!” chant right from the start, because certain smarks start that chant if they don’t think the match will be good.

    • Capt. Smooth
      July 16, 2011 at 11:15 am

      Fuck! Forgot to finish!

Orton vs. Christian: A waste of a title win. A waste of a heel turn. More than likely, a great match. I really don’t know where this will go.

Cena vs. Punk; The big one. Crowd reaction will be nuts! 2 great performers = terrific match. This is the way I see it going down: Cena and Punk go for 20 to 30 minutes, Cena comes out on top, most fans are livid, but some do cheer the great match they had just witnessed. Punk hands Cena the belt, they shake hands, Cena tells the crowd to show Punk some love and they do. After Punk exits, a group of Ninjas dressed in yellow and black come out from nowhere and DESTROY Cena. A lone ninja comes down to the ring, takes off his mask to reveal HEATH SLATER: THE GINJA NINJA!!! He pins Cena for the title. The rest of the ninjas take off their masks to reveal themselves as THE ORIGINAL NEXUS! Barrett grabs the mic and tells a woozy Cena that this was the plan all along and then procedes to introduce their backer. Just then the G.M. sound goes off, the lights flicker, and Cole reads that the G.M. was behind Nexus all along and will reveal himself on RAW……….We go to RAW and the G.M./Nexus backer is revealed to be…BIG DICK JOHNSON!!! Then, Vince wakes up with a giant woody.

In all honesty, I have no fucking clue. I’m lost.

Or it’s a new gimmick. He did look like he had a belly in the pic.

It is a new gimmick, a fastfood gimmick. The UnderTakeout.

When I saw the pics I also thought that he looked like he had cancer. I mean the guy even shaved is eyebrows and it would explain Michelle leaving. But now I just think he is trying to pull of the Kane look. Btw, it isn’t working.

    • July 17, 2011 at 1:54 am

I saw it. My first reaction was that it looks like Taker has cancer. He looks sick…I guess he finally looks like a DEADMAN.

      • July 17, 2011 at 2:14 am

Lol. He’s just old as fuck. I bet his hair was all grey and he had to keep dying it black to look like it did. Michelle McCool be sucking on his old wrinkly balls and she fucking loves it. What a sick freak.

              • July 17, 2011 at 11:21 am

it was that border around the photograph that makes it look so old. I don’t think it on taken on a cell phone or a digital camera.

Hahhahaha Tony Kegger in the last month has said both that he’s from Chicago and that he’s going to the event like a million times

    • July 16, 2011 at 5:56 pm

I would too. This PPV is the hottest ticket in town. Once in a lifetime type moment and it doesn’t get any bigger than CM Punk’s last match, a main event match at that in his hometown of Chicago.

    • July 17, 2011 at 1:56 am

I was just making sure you were paying attention. Thanks for reading.

Yeah I get excited when the WWE comes to Chicago. Can you blame me? Last time we got the best RAW of 2011 and now we are getting the most anticipated match of the year. Chicago is spoiled. Be happy this site didn’t exist right before March 28, 2011.

I just listened to CM Punk’s radio appearance on Chicago’s B96 from Friday (google it). Funny stuff. Punk said that he’s not sure if the fans will be behind him but the fans always dislike John Cena which he thinks is funny.

    • July 17, 2011 at 4:53 pm

The fans should beat up John Cena at the airport to soften him up for Punk.
