Question Of The Day: Who do you think all of this January 2nd crap is for?

In case you have been living under a rock lately, WWE has aired some very cryptic videos this month hyping up the return of a familiar force coming back to claim what is rightfully his. This force is expected to arrive on January 2, 2012 and the boy in these videos promises that his return will be the end of the world as we know it. He also promises that destruction will come upon those who have been unjust. Whoever this familiar force is, it is clear that they are coming back for revenge which leads me to believe that they were mistreated or screwed out of something, but what? It is also important to know that no one in the WWE acknowledges that these videos are even airing. Whoever it is shows their videos by hacking into live television broadcasts to warn of his arrival. In the last few videos there is a girl who holds the key to the return of this Superstar which really throws me off the scent of the 2 guys I thought were a sure bet to return on the second day of January, but then again, the last video has the girl saying that she cannot help him anymore. Confused yet? I know I am, but since you asked, I will try my best to answer. After the jump I have posted all the videos that have aired thus far and list the Superstars I think will be making a return on January 2, 2012.

Now that you have seen the videos, I will tell you guys who I think these are for and I will start with the guy who is gaining the most attention due to these videos, which I will follow-up with the most obvious choice of them all. Let’s get started.

Chris Jericho

Jericho is known for having cryptic videos hype up his arrivals to the WWE. From the Y2J countdown which lead to his WWE debut, to proclaiming to come back as our savior with his coded number videos, it’s easy to see why the majority of the IWC believes that these videos indicate the return of Chris Jericho. Whoever the familiar force is, they seem to be obsessed with causing destruction and bringing about the end of the world. To some, 2012 marks the year of Armageddon. The end of the world, if you will. The last time people worked themselves into a frenzy because of an upcoming Apocalypse was in 1999. It was dubbed as the Y2K panic. Jericho debuted in the WWE in 1999 under the Y2J moniker. His countdown mocked the end of the world countdown going on in the world at the time. His second coming to the company followed the same blueprint. Jericho came back as our savior. People who believe in the end of the world believe that Jesus Christ will return during the Apocalypse and save those who believed in him and those who have repented all of their sins. Now, 2012 is upon us and a familiar force is using the end of the world hype to make his return. This reeks of Chris Jericho. He may deny it on Twitter all he wants, but Jericho is known to work the fans so you can’t really take his word as the truth.

The boy in the video says that he will come back to take what is rightfully his. Last year, The Miz was running around in suits looking and acting like a cheap imitation of Chris Jericho. This year, CM Punk has proclaimed himself the best in the world, a proclamation first made by Jericho. The boy in the video also mentions that those that were unjust would be destroyed and that there is no escape. The last time Jericho was in a WWE ring, Randy Orton punted him straight to hell. If anyone is to come back with revenge on their mind, it is certainly Chris Jericho. The girl in the video really throws things off, unless it’s Stephanie McMahon who reached out to Jericho to come back and fix the mess her husband has created since relieving Vince of his duties. Like I said before, Jericho came back before in order to save us. If you take the words at the end of the videos and arrange them in sentence form you can make it say, “It begins when you take a Second Look Within yourself and come back to Control the Prophetless’. That’s something a false savior would definitely think. Maybe I’m over thinking it, but it makes sense to me dammit.

The Undertaker

Wrestlemania season is upon us, so it would only be right if these videos were hyping up the return of the deadman. The videos are dark, so Taker would fit perfectly into these. He’s coming back to take over the WWE. He’s been a part of the company for a long ass time and maybe he feels like the younger wrestlers just aren’t getting the job done and are ruining the brand he helped put on the map. He is also coming back to seek revenge on Triple H for putting him on the shelf for the better part of a year. Maybe he comes back and teams up with Kane and cause destruction as “The Brothers of Destruction” again. Once again though the girl in the video wouldn’t make sense for The Undertaker, unless he comes back with his lovely wife Michelle McCool as a dark gothic like couple coming back to reign supreme over the current crop of WWE Superstars and Divas.

Shawn Michaels

Yeah, I know this might be a bit of a reach, but hear me out. In the Jericho portion of this post I failed to mention how the girl in the video might not be a girl at all, but just a mere metaphor. Maybe for the WWE Universe, maybe for his rumored Wrestlemania opponent, but a metaphor nonetheless. In Shawn’s case, the metaphor can be his religion. His religion guided his career the last time we saw Shawn. He was a babyface who could do no wrong, but did God tell Shawn he can’t help him anymore? Did Shawn cross over to the darkside as a result and wants to come back to regain his Mr. Wrestlemania title? Does he want to come back and make us all pay for forgetting him so soon after his departure? Is he still obsessed with ending The Undertaker’s Wrestlemania streak? Has killing poor defenseless animals for fun turned “The Heartbreak Kid” into a life embodied in Satanism? Ok, maybe I’m reaching a bit too far with this one, but if Shawn Michaels shows up on January 2,2012, don’t say I didn’t tell you so.

Edge

I know that Edge retired with a career threatening injury, but in the last few years the only WWE Superstar to be linked with a woman who can hold the key of his return is Edge. I’ve witness Edge come back from serious injuries plenty of times before and he’s been gone for almost a year, which is plenty of time for him to get surgery and fix whatever problem was wrong with him. I doubt this happens, but it would be cool to have Edge return. He seemed so healthy and on top of his game before his shocking retirement from pro wrestling that I feel that he could have a great run upon his return if he was to have some miraculous surgery to fix his issues. Vicki Guerrero can bring him back saying that the Jack Swagger’s and Dolph Ziggler’s of the world aren’t getting her to the top of the WWE fast enough. Maybe he comes back with Lita. Maybe I’m just crazy for putting Edge on this list, but it’s my fucking list and I’ll put whoever I want on it. Sue me bitch.

Shane McMahon

This pick is based on one word and one word only, Control. While the most logical choice would have been Vince McMahon returning to take his company back, Vince has already returned prematurely and handed control of Monday Night RAW over to John Gingivitis. Stephanie McMahon, sick of the direction the company is going and tired of her husband’s incompetence, reached out to the rightful heir to the McMahon wrestling empire, her brother, Shane McMahon. Shane wants full control over RAW and goes to war against John Gingivitis and his goons. He even attacks Triple H for having the nerve to fire his father in his absence and letting the show spiral out of control. Maybe Shane always had a strong hatred towards the Interim General Manager and doesn’t feel like he deserves his spot. Who knows? One thing is clear though, if Shane does come back, he will try to take the WWE to heights his father never dreamed of. Or maybe, just maybe, he ruins it on purpose and it will be the end of the World Wrestling Entertainment brand as we know it.

_______

Well those are my 5 picks. Rumor has it that Skip Sheffield comes back as a Terminator type character named Ryback, but I doubt it. Not on January 2, 2012 at least. Another name that comes up is Brodus Clay. Disappointed with the way his comeback was handle, he took matters into his own hands and will make everyone in the WWE pay. I really doubt these videos are for him though. To me, the familiar force has to be extremely familiar and a huge name willing to travel down the Road To Wrestlemania. There is no need to waste all of this time on former jobbers and NXT rejects.

So, do you agree? Disagree? Who do you think will come back on the second day of January?

I would say Jericho or Shane. I say nay to Undertaker (too early…doesn’t make much sense), nay to Edge (too injured), and nay to HBK (too retired). I thought Jericho wanted to have an unpredictable return but Jericho’s returns/debuts are never unpredictable so why should this be any different? The girl said, “Do you understand?” in the last video and one of the things Y2J used to say was, “Do you understand what I’m saying to you right now.”

As for Shane-o-mac, it would make sense for it to be him but I’m not sure if he wants to come back. And I don’t know why the WWE would make cryptic videos for his return. I like Shane but it would be disappointing if he was the mystery man.

Also, kudos to you for posting all the videos in one spot so I don’t have to visit five different links. I’ve always wanted to re-watch the videos but I didn’t feel like finding the links for each video.

I think it’s Jericho, but Taker is the safe bet. This is 2/21/11 all over again. As for the videos, I had never seen the first one so I thought it would be a good idea to watch all of them so I can actually know what the fuck I’m speaking on. Good to know that I didn’t waste my time embedding all the vids just so no one can watch them 🙂

There can be only one man that this is for: Naked Mideon!

    • December 23, 2011 at 1:59 am

There is no room for naked Mideon in PG WWE and if there is I will be extremely disappointed. It would be funny though.

It’s Jericho for the exact reasons you stated.

Im beggining to think that more than one person could be returning on the 2nd of January. The whole world as you know it thing is making me think that a band of attitude era superstars, led by Shane and Stephanie come back to retake what is theirs, the wwe. They think that the modern era are weak and underperforming, so they will save us. The foundations to this are already laid by Rock v Cena at Mania, modern era v Attitude era. I think mania will be an attitude era v modern era event, maybe Austin v Punk could happen. Perhaps the separate vids are for the separate star, it begins could be the whole idea, conrol would be shane and steph, prophetless HBK(religious), 2nd 2012 taker(whole armaggedon thing) look within I’m not too sure about but could be Austin or Jericho. This is probally all wrong, but who cares!

    • December 23, 2011 at 10:58 am

That would be fucking awesome. Too bad guys like Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit aren’t around anymore because they would have amazing matches with the likes of Daniel Bryan and CM Punk.

        December 23, 2011 at 4:11 pm

Yeah deffo! Bryan v Benoit would have been a classic. I’ll be gutted If its Skip Sheffield coming back as this Ryback character. He’s been hinting It on twitter.

        • December 23, 2011 at 7:55 pm

He also hinted at being at the TLC PPV but I guess they decided not to use him just yet. I’m interesting in seeing what his Ryback character is all about, but not as the guy these videos are for unless he’s getting some over the top push.

This was posted by a fan named Jack Foley:

“These videos are hyping a potential WM28 feud between CM Punk and Chris Jericho and here’s why: In the video the little boy is representing Jericho and the little girl is representing Punk. Keep this in mind throughout my explanation. Notice, how the little boy continues to write in his notebook and the little girl keeps trying to look at what he is writing. Once the boy goes into the corner (Jericho’s time off from WWE), The girl tries to do the work herself, but can’t come up with anything. Keep in mind that she looked at the boy’s notebook and this is implying that she has stolen the boy’s work, which represents Jericho going to come back and claim that Punk is a fraud and has stolen his ideas and gimmick and what not. Also the ball in the video represents Jericho “dropping the ball” by leaving and Punk “taking the ball and running with it”. The ball belonged to the boy and the girl took. At the end the girl is standing in the spotlight and the boy is in the dark with his head down indicating that we have forgotten about Jericho and that Punk is the new guy we all know and love. This will lead to WM match with Punk and Jericho. Look within the video not what the kid is saying…”

He is letting Wrestlemania rumors fuel his logic though. Interesting concept though, but I think I broke it down in a way that makes more sense. Really though these videos can be interpreted in so many ways. Can’t wait for 1/2/12.

Alright seriously, I think the FBI needs to hire some of these wrestling fan to crack some cold cases. My god, after reading your explanation as to why its Jericho, then reading this last post…..I’m just in awe.

  8. December 23, 2011 at 11:42 am

I want it to be Jericho, but HBK would be awesome too. It will probably end up being Undertaker though.

Maybe it’s the Anonymous Raw General Manager?

I’ve heard about HBK being the special guest ref at the WM match with Taker and HHH.

This is pretty cool…but way to thoughful for WWE.

I wonder why they would make Punk a girl? Is it because HE HAS A VAGINA!!!!!!??!?!?!?!

    • December 23, 2011 at 8:01 pm

      Lmmfao. Or a MANGINA~!

    • December 23, 2011 at 10:02 pm

The girl is just to confuse people. Remember when a female leg stepped out of a limo right before The Rock was named Host of WrestleMania?

      • December 24, 2011 at 4:31 pm

I forgot about that. Maybe it’s the same female. The last time she was there she unleashed The Rock on John Cena and know she wants to cause destruction and take control.

When I first saw there I thought Matt Striker, with the whole school theme… but I don’t think he would “end the world”/ Twitter has already shown that Jericho will be working in Hawaii during 1/2/2012 / I do like the idea of HBK, and maybe his doctor is a female??… Just my thoughts

    • December 27, 2011 at 1:16 am

Hmmm, never thought about the actual school setting and how it fit into wrestling. Come to think of it Michelle McCool used to be a school teacher before she started wrestling so that would make sense for The Undertaker. Matt Striker, lol. No way. He sucks. I am heavily leaning on a Jericho return though. Heels lie so I wouldn’t trust his Twitter. HBK would be great too. So many possibilities. Looks like we will find out for sure next week 🙂

I am really inspired together with your writing abilities and also with the structure in your
weblog. Is that this a paid theme or did you customize it your self?
Anyway stay up the nice quality writing, it’s uncommon to see a great blog like this one these days..
