THE INFAMOUS Album Review: TKO “Prototype V” + Free Album Download

Over the summer, INFAMOUS CREW™ member TKO released his “Prototype V” album, which you can download for free by clicking here. This is the first time a TKO album is available for free download and I told him a while back that if he ever dropped a legit album that I can actually download and listen to then I would be more than happy to review that motherfucker. Seeing as I am a man of my word, I downloaded the album and the first thing I noticed was that TKO left off his biggest hit to date, “We See You” (John Cena Diss), which you can download for free by clicking here.

Before I start, I would just like to give TKO and any other artist reading this a word of advise, if and when you drop a song and it becomes a smash hit, build your album around that song. Use that song for promotion and push up the release date of your album, if not then just gather up some of your best songs that are not available to the public (or in this case chilling on YouTube collecting virtual dust) and release them as a mixtape so you can keep your name buzzing on the streets Internet until your official album release. Never let the hype fizzle out because in this fast food culture that is the Internet, people will stop checking for you if you’re not consistent. So yeah, where was I again? Oh yeah, the album review. In this review I’m going to keep it 100% real. Just because me and TKO are cool doesn’t mean that I will cut him any slack when it comes to this hiphop shit. I’m not kissing anybody’s ass with this shit, so if a song is good I will say that it’s good, but if a song fucking sucks then I’m going to rip it a new asshole. Let’s get to it…

To Live In The Moment – TKO wastes no time with a spoken word intro and gets right into spitting his brand of hiphop over a tight ass (pause) beat. I don’t think I have ever heard TKO spit so many punchlines in one fucking song, but this shit is full of them. It’s like he stole Lloyd Banks book of rhymes or some shit. This shit bangs and is a great way to kick off the album. It sets the bar high, so I’m excited to hear where this album goes.

Hip Hop Lives – The lyrics on this shit are fucking dope as fuck. On the intro he played around with the punchlines, but on this shit, you can tell he is taking this music shit serious as fuck and perfected his word play. Hiphop definitely lives on this track. The rhymes are coke and I just finished sniffing a line. #AudioHigh

Price Of Fame – It’s storytelling time as TKO tells a story of a fan possessed and how the price of fame isn’t all glitz and glamour. With money and fame comes haters and stalkers and the motherfucker on this song is extremely obsessed with his favorite singer. He tried to get closer to her, but got shut the fuck down, so instead of taking it like a  man he [Spoiler Alert] shoots the bitch. While this reminds me of Eminem’s “Stan” it is not a carbon copy by any means. The beat is super melodic and TKO shows a creative side I never knew existed within that motherfucker. Good song whether you like hiphop or not.

Fuck Swag – I must have played this motherfucker like 20 times in a row while mean mugging the fuck out of this bitch on the block while bopping my head so hard I thought I broke my motherfucking neck (pause). Not only do I fucking love this beat, but I’ve said Fuck Swag for years now. I agree with everything said on this track and if you don’t like this shit then you can suck my dick 2 times, proverbially speaking of course. While I have enjoyed this album so far, I must say that this is my favorite track so far. I can appreciate the punchlines and the story telling in the previous songs, but I fucks with the in your face nature of this joint right here. Without their money and celebrity status none of these rappers have an ounce of “swag”. Fuck Lil Wayne and his skinny jeans, fuck Chris Brown and his blonde Sisqo wannabe hairdo, fuck all you motherfuckers screaming that swag shit. Swag is for fags, no disrespect to any homos reading this shit. Hiphop needs a savior to get all these little bitch made fraudulent rappers in check and TKO seems like the perfect man for the job. It should be a crime that this motherfucker isn’t signed to a major record label yet. Seriously.

Jack & Coke featuring Frank Grimes –This song makes me want to sip on a Jack & Coke while I smoke on the finest herbs known to man. This shit is a cool laidback track I can just put on, kick back and indulge in my chosen recreational substances. Don’t play this shit near Matt Hardy or he’ll fuck around and overdose to this shit. Frank Grimes is aight, but compared to TKO he comes off as an American Idol reject that suddenly developed a crack habit and is trying to get a free swig from TKO’s Jack & Coke.

Evil – Braggadocios rhymes filled with threats of violence by death of sharp weapons. Don’t fuck with TKO or you will end up being stabbed to death. If by any chance you survive, don’t be surprise if you end up missing a spleen. This motherfucker is evil I tell you. EVIL!!!

Crying featuring DATman – I can relate to this shit. There always comes a point in our lives when we are tested. Some break down, but only the strong can keep their heads up and not cry in some of the most fucked up situations. I honestly can’t remember the last time I cried, must have been when I was like 4 and my moms beat my ass for something I did or some shit. It’s been a while and trust me I’ve been through so much bullshit that if I was a weaker man I would have broken down a long time ago, but that’s not the way I’m wired. I’ve had people from family members to past girlfriends ask me if I have any emotions because I rarely ever get emotional. To be honest, it seems like I’m stuck between 2 emotions. Anger and happiness. For the most part I’m happy and content, but if something pisses me of or if something goes wrong and is out of my control I tend to get angry and most times I lash out violently. Maybe if I shed a tear I can liberate my soul from all its pain, but fuck all that, ain’t nothing I can’t handle. Anyways, this song is dope from the beat, to the lyrics, even the speed up sample, but damn, DATman sounds like a bootleg Young Buck, formerly from G-Unit.

When I Close My Eyes – Lovely instrumental compliments this track which tells the story of a guy who just wants to fucking lay back and relax, but life doesn’t let him. Sometimes he just wants to say fuck the world and just go back to sleep and worry about the shit another day. Other times he just wants to kill himself and end it all, but real world responsibilities like being a parent keep him motivated to keep going. His only salvation comes when night falls, when he finally gets the chance to sleep and escape all of his problems, but even then, there are times where he can’t catch a fucking break and ends up suffering from insomnia.

Memoirs Of An MC – Songs like this really makes me appreciate the artist within the man. This shit is a personal story of a man that tried his hand at gangbanging, but realized that it wasn’t the life he was trying to live, so he turned to hiphop so he could get his shine on, but as the genre as a whole turned to shit he changed his approach and tried to make songs with a message in order to save hiphop. He feels that he is talented. Others think he was born with a gift, but he feels like it is all going to waste, which is a damn fucking shame. This nigga deserves a platinum plaque and a motherfucking Grammy. I’m sure he’ll settle for a gold record and some groupies though. If anyone at a record label is reading this shit; SIGN THIS MOTHERFUCKER NOW!!!

We Did It – Gene Supreme Being did his motherfucking thing on this song. This shit goes stupid hard and like “Fuck Swag” I must have played this motherfucker like 20 times in a row. Straight fire. The lyrics are on point on this track, word up. I was already liking this motherfucker (pause) and then this nigga said “I will never back down like some kind of faggot, throw up the Roc and drop these niggas, Diamond Dallas”. When I first hear that part I marked the fuck out and had to rewind that bitch just to make sure I heard it right. As a big Jay-Z and wrestling fan I immediately understood the punchline and if you have no idea what that means then click the fucking link.

Blood Money featuring D Damage – You can change his name all you want, but I know Young Buck when I hear him, so either TKO has a connection in the rap game or DATman just spit his second verse on this album. Anyways, I fucks with this song. Being on the streets at a young age I’ve done alot of questionable things for money. From selling hope to fiends to taking what I felt was owned to me, there was nothing and no one that could stand between me and my money. This reminds me of a question my friend asked me once which was, would I kill him over money. He’s dead now and all I got was $3 out of it. I guess his life really wasnt worth a damn. Ok, so I made that last part up, sue me bitch.

Bump – I know this beat from somewhere. Maybe a Busta Rhymes song. I can’t remember, but yeah, this shit is more uptempo than the last couple of tracks, but the lyrics stay hard. Bitches can definitely dance to this shit, but this ain’t a love song, it’s a fight song. After the last few songs though this feels a little out-of-place. Should have been a bonus track.

Still A King – This song quickly turns into audio porn as TKO rides his own dick so hard that he skeets all over his own face. There were some nice lines on here, but for the most part this was a throwaway track. Maybe it’s just the song order, since the last track was uptempo and this one had a slow lazy flow to it or maybe this was phoned in, but whatever the case might be, it’s clear that the kings crown slipped off his head on this track.

Nature Of The Beast- Now this is more fucking like it. This track is all over the fucking place, but there are a lot of gems on this motherfucker. One of the lines that stood out was “I call myself a king, but I feel like a fucking liar”. Now I feel like I got punked and the last song was a set up for this one. Or maybe braggadocios rhymes is just a part of hiphop that he wanted to touch on but his flow is more suited for songs like this and he knows it. Idk, but TKO seems to be a very self-aware artist. I also liked where he says that hiphop is lame now and no one gives a fuck so he is going to take matters into his own hands and go to the Def Jam building with a gun and kipnap MC’s because they release the same shit year after year like a Madden game. The end of the song was interesting because TKO feels that he was once a hungry MC, but he has now reached a certain age where maybe this hiphop shit is just a waste of time and he feels like maybe he should just hang it up. Deep shit right there.

Boss featuring DATman – “He’s a boss, BOSS NIGGA”. Ha! I like this shit right here. Nice flow from TKO and Young Buck DATman and the sample on the chorus is fucking awesome. This is some shit I can smoke to and ride out because I’m a motherfucking boss, nigga!

Infamous Crew- “You ain’t gotta wait no more/ cuz the wait is over/we THE INFAMOUS CREW™/we taking over/yeah/hide your wallets and your purses/tuck in your chains/ run up in some churches/stomp a mudhole in your ass  call me Austin/ doing what it means from Omaha to Boston/ and I don’t care what you think you can do/CUZ NIGGA YOU CAN’T FUCK WITH THE INFAMOUS CREW™!!!!!!!!!” Fucking awesome! I didn’t ask for a song giving love to the site, so this was a very pleasant surprise and the greatest way to end the album. Yes, I’m being biased now, but it’s better to be biased on the last song then the whole fucking review, right?

Final Thoughts

If you haven’t downloaded this album then what the fuck are you waiting for? This shit is dope and is alot better than most of the garbage clogging up the radio airwaves. With TKO thinking about hanging up the mic soon, this might just be the very last time we have the pleasure to listen to his brand of hiphop. Do yourself a favor and download now. Out of 16 songs, I only think he slipped up on maybe one or two tracks which makes this a quality listen considering that albums now a days only have 1 or 2 good songs. I would rate this album 4 out of 5 stars.

Do we get to be in the video? lol

This was a dope album. If the shit was trash I would have been straight up with you, but you got skills on the mic. If there is anyway to make it happen you should put up the previous Prototype albums so people can hear the growth of an artist. I’ve been plugging this on a few hiphop sites so hopefully we can get this shit into the right hands. Nobody blows up over night, it’s about that one fan a day type shit, but you been doing this for a while and are talented I just wish shit could pop off legit. Too many fucking undeserving people making too much money with pumping out garbage. You can spit real shit, spit for bitches, spit hard shit, and your flow would so work in the mainstream scene. Lots of hiphop fans out there don’t know what the fuck they missing. For every talented MC there’s a thousand putting up crappy links on Twitter and shit so when a true MC does it nobody wants to fuck with it since most cats is wack and fuck it up for the rest. I fucks with this shit though. If nobody else fuck with it you would always have a fan in me and that’s real. Your humbleness is also good to see since most rappers are too full of themselves.

I’m trying to download the album but it’s taking a long time.

    • December 23, 2011 at 1:52 am

Worked fast for me and I have a crappy internet signal. Maybe I should mirror the link on MegaUpload and Rapidshare if I remember how to do it.

      • December 23, 2011 at 8:11 am

really? I am unable to download it. It just says, “You are currently downloading” and it stays like that for several minutes. No updates or anywhere to track how much has downloaded so far.

Good looking out to all who listened and enjoyed the damn thing. Even if you didn’t like it. My job is to do better then. Hard to stay focused with 2 jobs and 2 kids. Hustlin. I’ll put up Prototype 1-4(2010-2011), Incognito (featuring We See You)(2010), Satisfaction is the Death of Desire (2010) and the Nebraska EP which was just some random songs I made in the last few months that are on my youtube channel. Still About 30 other full length projects that I likely won’t put up for download but if anyone wants to hear more, they will be up in the next week at tkotheprototype.blogspot.com. Chadam and City, thanks for any word of mouth, I don’t ask so I’m even more greatful. New shit 2012
