So, Why Do YOU Watch Wrestling?
by THE INFAMOUS JCITY™
[Editor’s Note: This is the first post I have ever written using WordPress’ Mobile App for Android. I’m not familiar with the App and I’m typing this using a touchscreen keyboard, so I would appreciate it if you all look past all the spelling and grammar mistakes that are bound to ensue.]
In a world obssesed with what’s hot in mainstream Pop Culture, Professional Wrestling is often treated like the red-headed stepchild of modern day entertainment; and has been treated as such for quite some time now. For journalistic purposes, I recently conducted a street survey outside of a local bar where I asked 100 people if they watched wrestling and what they thought about the current product. The results did not surprise me in the least bit, but they do paint a picture of the general populations opinion on our chosen genre of entertainment. More after the jump.
An Update About Updates And Updating
by THE INFAMOUS JCITY™
In an online world known for instant gratification and undeserved entitlement, it really should have been no surprise to find people bitching and complaining about “the lack of content” on this site. Considering that the average writer on the net only writes about once a week, I don’t see what the big fucking deal is. I know I’ve slowed down with the updates lately, but I haven’t missed a single week this year, so people demanding daily updates should really back the fuck off and stop acting like entitled little pricks. I’ve blogged for close to two years now and have provided people with some of the greatest reading material in the history of everdom, but it seems that people don’t appreciate shit and all they want is more, more, more. Exclusive Interview with Capt. Smooth by Tony Kegger
Edited by THE INFAMOUS JCITY™
The Infamous Crew™ has several members and one of those members is Capt. Smooth. He has established himself as one of the most important members of The Infamous Crew™ despite the fact that he has never written a column that has been published on this website. He has left several witty and funny comments at THE INFAMOUS JCITY™ website, but his words have never appeared above the comments. Well actually that is not completely true. His words actually did appear in the column in which JCITY™ answered questions from visitors who left questions for him in the comments, but the questions Capt. Smooth and everybody else submitted were uncredited so it was an unofficial debut for Capt. Smooth. However, that has all changed now because I have interviewed Capt. Smooth for this website and his words will be officially recognized as the words of Capt. Smooth. This is Capt. Smooth’s official THE INFAMOUS JCITY™ debut!
My interview with Capt. Smooth is long so hopefully you will have learned a lot about him when you are finished reading this interview. I asked Capt. Smooth over 30 questions. We did the interview live in a chat box (thanks Chatroll!). I corrected his typos and put brackets around words he left out that I felt were necessary, but other than that, what you see is what he really wrote. Capt. Smooth is an interesting guy and I hope you enjoy the interview. Read more…
THE INFAMOUS JCITY™ Answers Your Motherfucking Questions
by THE INFAMOUS JCITY™
Welcome to my first ever Answers post. This is a long ass read clocking in at over 8,200 words, but I had fun putting this together so it’s all good. Topics in this post include Wrestling, Music, Sports, Drugs, Parental Advisory and Other. Before you proceed, I would like to give a quick warning. Some of these answers might make you look at me in a different light. Some people might relate to me, while others might develop a new-found hatred, but that’s ok. You’re free to think what you want. Also, there is graphic language and situations in the Parental Advisory section, so if sexual content isn’t your thing then please feel free to skip that section. Before I start, I would like to shout out Capt. Smooth, Tony Kegger, Shaman’s Harvest, Max, Ace Hart, Dave, TKO, Ana_Zackpack, Alan and even stupid ass Stephen for participating and submitting questions. This was a great way for us to interact and hopefully I did this post justice. Keep in mind that the questions are unedited, so if you spot any bad grammar, don’t blame me, y’all should be blaming yourselves. Now on to the feature presentation. Read more…
As I read all the online reports and put this together I still can’t believe that this is real. In a world when we are conditioned to call WWE wrestlers, “Superstars”, there was once a time when wrestlers were so larger than life we didn’t need to be told they were a Superstar, we just knew it. Randy Savage was one of those wrestlers. A real life superhero that could play any role to perfection. Savage was one of the best heels (and face) the world of professional wrestling has ever known. It really irks me when people mention the all time greats and forget to give Savage the credit he deserves. He was just as a big as Hogan, both during the 80’s in the WWF and then in the 90’s as WCW was being overtaken by the NWO (which Savage later became a member of). Compared to todays times, if Hogan can be considered the 80’s John Cena type then Randy Savage can easily be the 80’s equivalent of a Randy Orton. Both men were instrumental in catching my eye as a young (and extremely) impressionable wrestling fanatic. While I didn’t become a super fan until the nineties (I wasn’t allowed to watch much wrestling when I was really young because I would use the moves on my siblings), late 80’s wrestling captured my mind in ways nothing else other than the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and He-Man could possibly do. Savage was at the forefront of this movement. I admit to missing alot of his earlier career and I really don’t remember things before Wrestlemania 7 when he was already winding down his in-ring career in the WWF, but what I did see lead me to dig up all those tapes and school myself on the legacy and what a legacy did this man ever leave behind.
A long time ago, I came across a funny website with a list of urban legends in the world of professional wrestling. While some of them aren’t that big of a deal, there are tons that are hilarious or just bizarre and then I remembered that we THE INFAMOUS CREW™, aren’t the most ethical wrestling bloggers around (no offense to anyone that might be xD). It then dawned on me that it would be awesome if I posted some of these urban legends for us to discuss here. I will still do other types of articles, but this new column will be something sporadic for us to laugh about. Read more…
